Faulty Assumption

Anxious ticks obscure the silence

Of outward pacification

While whispers of incongruous plea

-Defiled by self-destructing murmurs-

Writhe beneath the placid surface.

Unearthed upon thine guilty assumption

That the words which escaped each tooth laden grin~

Encasing years of doubt in this secluded vault

Were that of genuine appeal to your gullible nature

And not a front of decadent submission

To seal the stoic doors once more.

So branded in sin they remain forever

You are locked out

I am locked out

On principle of that faulty assumption

I am sorry

You are sorry

But now I fear it is too late
